Waterproof Digital Cameras
As holiday season is approaching again I’ve been looking into digital cameras, in particular waterproof digital cameras. By waterproof I don’t mean rainproof or splashproof, I mean a camera that you can take underwater with you to take pictures of the fish.
I have discovered there are quite a few waterproof digital cameras - the main ones being -
•Canon PowerShot D10 (12.1 megapixels - waterproof down to 33 feet - $330 )
•Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 (12.1 megapixels - waterproof down to 10 feet - $400 )
•Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 (12 megapixels - waterproof down to 33 feet - $400 )
•Fujifilm Finepix Z33WP (10 megapixels - waterproof down to 10 feet - $220)
•Pentax Optio W60 (10 megapixels - waterproof down to 13 feet - $250)
Having had a look at them all (on the Internet) I have decided that the best waterproof digital camera for my purposes is the Canon Powershot D10. Canon are one of the best camera makers in the world so I can’t really go to far wrong by choosing a Canon. And a 12,1 megapixel camera that can go down to 33 feet underwaterm can be used at -10 degrees and is dustproof and shockproof so should be more than enough for my requirements on the beach at St Tropez !
